Private Label Perfume Quote: MOQ, Packaging and Buyer Checklist

Illustrative product and packaging concept. Final components are selected and approved for each project.

A useful private label perfume quote starts with the quantity per fragrance, bottle size, scent route, packaging specification and destination market. Send the same brief for every quotation you compare. A price for a filled bottle and a price for a decorated bottle in a rigid gift box describe different projects.

At ZAN AROMA in Türkiye, we work with brands, importers and distributors on perfume and home-fragrance manufacturing. This practical guide helps you turn an idea into a brief that can be reviewed for production. For an overview of our service, visit our private label manufacturing page.

1. Calculate the quantity per fragrance and product

Our standard minimum for finished products is 1,000 units per fragrance, per product type. An order total alone does not define a production run. List each fragrance and format separately, including different bottle sizes.

Planning example: two fragrances in one perfume format at 1,000 units each means 2,000 perfume bottles. Adding those same two fragrances as reed diffusers at 1,000 units each means another 2,000 units. The combined project is 4,000 finished units, not one shared minimum divided across four items. This example explains quantity planning; it is not a price offer.

We manufacture against agreed orders rather than offering a permanent ready-stock assortment for small mixed purchases or dropshipping. Any project-specific exception must be agreed explicitly and should not be assumed from an earlier quotation for a different customer.

2. Specify the fragrance route before asking for a unit price

  • Existing fragrance library: describe the scent family and intended market so that suitable available options can be discussed.
  • Adaptation: explain what should change in the scent direction and how you will evaluate the sample.
  • Development from a new brief: define the character, reference notes, intended use and performance expectations. Development scope and fees must be confirmed separately.

A reference scent communicates an olfactory direction; it does not establish formula ownership, exclusivity or permission to use another brand’s identity. Write any requested exclusivity into the brief for a separate discussion.

3. Describe the bottle, decoration and complete packaging

“Luxury packaging” can mean very different things. A stock bottle with a label, a coated bottle with printing and a custom-moulded bottle have different sourcing and production requirements. Start with a catalogue reference or a clear photo, then specify what you want to change.

  • Product format and fill size, such as a 50 ml spray perfume
  • Bottle model, glass appearance and any coating
  • Spray pump, collar and cap preferences
  • Label or direct printing, number of colours and decorative finish
  • Folding carton or rigid box, insert and individual packaging
  • Any testers, gift-set components or display requirements, listed separately

Browse the ZAN AROMA catalogue library to describe your preferred direction. Catalogue images are reference options; availability, final dimensions and the exact quoted configuration are confirmed for the order.

4. Compare what the quotation includes

Ask for the currency, quantity basis and a written description of the finished unit. Check whether filling, assembly, bottle decoration and the selected box are included. Development, samples, tooling, specialist tests, destination-market work and transport can require separate lines depending on the project.

Give a target manufacturing budget as well as your intended retail position. This helps us assess a suitable standard bottle and packaging combination before developing a presentation that does not fit your budget. A preliminary range is not a final offer until the specifications are agreed.

5. Separate sample approval, production and shipping

Distinguish a fragrance tester from a complete decorated product sample. Agree what the sample is intended to approve: scent, concentration, spray, appearance, packaging or the assembled set. Changes after approval can affect cost and timing.

Share the destination country, city and postal code for logistics planning. Product pricing does not automatically include shipping, customs charges or destination costs. We can assist with carrier suggestions and relevant shipping paperwork; the available route and final freight quotation depend on the actual shipment.

The production schedule is confirmed around the approved fragrance, artwork, components and payment milestones. If you have a launch date, include it at the start rather than treating an estimated production period as a guaranteed arrival date.

6. Send this short buyer brief

  1. Company or brand name, contact person and destination market
  2. Product type, fill size and intended use
  3. Fragrance names or directions, with quantity for each
  4. Existing-library selection, adaptation or new development
  5. Bottle, cap, decoration and box references
  6. Target manufacturing budget and currency
  7. Sample requirements and desired launch date
  8. Destination city/postal code and any specific documentation request

Example brief: “We are planning two 50 ml spray perfumes for distribution. Initial quantity: 1,000 bottles per fragrance. We prefer a standard glass bottle, black cap, label and individual folding carton. Please review available fragrance-library options and quote the specified finished product, showing any separate sample or development charges. Our market, target budget and preferred launch date are attached.”

Frequently asked questions

Is 1,000 units the minimum for the whole collection?

No. Our standard is 1,000 units for each fragrance in each product type. State your complete quantity split so we can review it correctly.

Can I obtain a final price from a bottle photo?

A photo helps identify the direction, but the fill size, components, decoration, box, fragrance and quantities are still needed for a final quotation.

Does choosing a catalogue scent mean exclusivity?

No. Any exclusivity or formula-ownership request needs a separate written agreement. Do not assume it is included in a standard manufacturing quote.

Can one fragrance be used across perfume and home fragrance?

A coordinated scent direction may be possible. Each intended product needs its own suitable formulation, specification and sample review; one sample does not approve every format.
